We’re looking for a self-driven, natural communicator, to drive and promote the role of Gumala in meeting the needs of our Traditional Owner members – today and in the future. Reporting directly to the Executive Officer, you will be responsible for all aspects of the PR & Communications function, including stakeholder engagement, branding and social media.
Other key duties include, but are not limited to:
Developing and coordinating effective communications strategies and campaigns.
Maintaining the GAC website and Facebook pages, ensuring current and timely content at all times.
Coordinating media activities including photo and video shoots.
Preparing briefings and other correspondence as required.
Planning and assessing the impact of internal and external communications campaigns and content.
Ensuring consistent branding across all GAC communications and products.
Fielding and managing media enquiries.
The successful candidate will have:
A Tertiary qualification in Marketing, PR, Communications, or a related field.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in PR and Communications.
Demonstrated leadership of direct reports.
A track record of delivering strategic content through storytelling.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
Self-motivation, with a strong focus on driving tangible outcomes and results.
Keen eye for detail and social media engagement.
Effective organisational, planning and time management skills.
A high degree of initiative and a flexible approach to deal with competing demands, ambiguity and change.
Proficiency in using Adobe Creative Cloud apps, such as InDesign and Premiere Pro.
Previous experience working with remote Indigenous communities will be highly regarded.
